The Marilyn Lowe Scholarship was created to honor Marilyn Lowe’s contributions to Music Learning Theory through her work, Music Moves for Piano. The purpose of this scholarship is to advance the mission of GIML and audiation-based piano instruction through supporting piano teachers interested in learning more about Gordon’s Music Learning Theory and incorporating it into their piano teaching.
Eligibility
Award
Each scholarship will cover 100% of the course registration and tuition fees (approximately $750). Scholarship recipients are responsible for the cost of housing (if applicable), transportation, meals, required workshop materials, optional additional tuition for graduate credit, and any required deposits. The number of scholarships provided each year will depend on availability of funds and sites.
Selection
Final selection of the scholarship recipient(s) will be made by the Marilyn Lowe Scholarship Committee based on the clarity of the application and site enrollment availability. No member of the Marilyn Lowe Scholarship Committee, the Music Moves for Piano Board, or their immediate family members are eligible to receive scholarship assistance during their tenure.
Process
The Marilyn Lowe Scholarship Committee will notify applicants of its decision. The scholarship payment will be made upon verification of the applicant’s attendance at the selected PDLC. Payment will be made directly to the Gordon Institute for Music Learning (GIML).

To be considered for one of these scholarships, please email your completed application form and one-page narrative statement to marilynlowescholarshipfund@gmail.comby April 1. Recipients will be notified of the Scholarship Committee’s decision by April 15.
